Light White

 

Estás fotos me gustan especialmente. El blanco es un color que favorece muchísimo en verano, por lo que un vestido blanco se convierte en un "must have" en época estival. El vestido que llevo en las fotos ha sido una de mis compras de rebajas en Zara a muy buen precio y se ha convertido en uno de mis favoritos. Es impresionante cómo a pesar de la sencillez del outfit, viste tanto. La perfecta luz del atardecer y el buenísimo fotógrafo (parte fundamental) hacen posible este magnífico resultado.

I particularly like these photos. White is a color that looks great in the summer when we get some tan, and that's why a white dress becomes a "must have" in summer. The dress I am wearing has been one of my purchase from Zara sales, I got it for a great price and has become one of my favorites. It is impressive how despite the simplicity of the outfit, seems very dressy. Sunset light and my great photographer (a very important part) make possible this magnificent result.

The Firefly and the Snake

Hace poco mi madre me regaló un libro que me esta encantando, "Gente tóxica" de Bernardo Stamateas, un libro que muchos ya conoceréis y que, para aquellos que no lo hagáis, recomiendo enormemente. Todos hemos conocido alguna vez a gente que contamina, esa gente que sólo nos transmite energía negativa y con la que tras pasar un tiempo te hace sentir completamente exhausta. ¿La razón? Son auténticos vampiros de energía. Este libro habla de todas esas personas; nos ayuda a detectarlas facilitando los rasgos típicos de cada tipo de vampiro energético a lo largo de los distintos capítulos que conforman el libro. Aunque resulte extraño, la lectura del libro es una forma tristemente divertida de consolarnos entendiendo que todos nos hemos enfrentado alguna vez a este tipo de personaje acomplejado que ejerce de verdugo para sentirse mejor consigo mismo. En definitiva: gente que queremos fuera de nuestra vida, de eso habla el libro... de eso, y de nuestra manera de desvincularnos de ellas. Cambiando de tema y ya de vuelta en Palma quiero compartir las fotos que hemos ido sacando en Madrid. Hemos estado hospedados en el Hotel Me Reina Victoria, situado en la plaza de Santa Ana en pleno barrio de las letras, mi zona preferida de Madrid. Para finalizar me gustaría compartir una fábula muy significativa del libro:

Una serpiente estaba persiguiendo a una luciérnaga. Cuando estaba a punto de comérsela ésta le dijo: -"¿Puedo hacerte una pregunta?" 
La serpiente respondió: 
-"En realidad nunca contesto preguntas de mis víctimas, pero por ser tú te lo voy a permitir." 
Entonces, la luciérnaga preguntó: 
-"¿Yo te he hecho algo?"
-"No", respondió la serpiente. 
-"¿Pertenezco a tu cadena alimenticia?", preguntó la luciérnaga. 
- "No", volvió a responder la serpiente. 
-"Entonces, ¿por qué me quieres comer?", inquirió el insecto. 
-"Porque no soporto verte brillar", respondió la serpiente.

Qué paseis un buen lunes. ;)

Recently my mother gave me a great book: "Toxic people" by Bernardo Stamateas, a book that many of you probably already know and, for those who do not, I highly recommend. We all have met people who carry negative energy, or people whom after spending some time with make you feel completely exhausted. The reason? They are authentic power vampires. This book talks about all of those people; It help us to detect them by facilitating the typical features of each type of energy vampire throughout the various chapters that make up the book. I know it sounds awkward but the reading of the book is sadly funny because through it we find out that everyone has confronted this kind of people al least once in their lives. Changing theme and already back in Palma I want to share some photos from our trip to Madrid.  We have been hosted in the Hotel Me Reina Victoria, located in Plaza de Santa Ana in the heart of the "Letters district", my favorite area in Madrid. Finally I'd like to share a fable that I liked from "Gente Tóxica":

Once upon a time, there was a snake that started chasing relentlesly a beautiful firefly. The glowing insect fled as fast as it could from the fearsome predator, but the snake didn´t give up. It fled for a full day and the snake didn't give up. Two days and nothingg. On the third day, totally exhausted, the firefly stopped and told the snake:
"-Can I make you a couple of questions?"
-"I'm not used to allow such a thing...but since I'm going to eat you, go ahead."
-"Do I belong to your chain of food?"
-"No"
-"Have I done you any harm?"
-"No"
-"Then, why do you want to end me?
-"Because I can´t stand seing you glow."

Opuntia ficus-indica

En pleno ecuador de la semana y cargada de energía. Viajes increíbles que espero con unas ganas locas, nuevos proyectos, nuevos desafíos... y mientras tanto seguimos disfrutando del verano; No puedo pedir más. Estás son fotos de uno de esos días tan típicos del mes de agosto, en el que a pesar  del calor bochornoso, sobretodo en islas debido a la tremenda humedad, las lluvias de verano amenazan con empaparte y te obligan a cambiar tu día de playa o piscina por paseos, compras o excursiones que siempre acaban en comida copiosa, para finiquitar la tarde con siesta y peli en el sofá. Seguro que nuestra piel también agradece días como este. ¿Qué decir del look? Pues cómo siempre sigo en mi linea en cuanto a ponerme accesorios en la cabeza; esta vez le ha tocado el turno al turbante, mi debilidad. No tengo ni idea de donde me viene ese afán por adornarme la cabeza, los que me conocen bien lo saben. Mi madre siempre dice que tenemos raíces árabes, una suposición suya porque es tremendamente morena, así que quizás tenga razón y venga de eso... ;)

On Wednesday and full of energy. This is how I feel.  Incredible trips that I hope with excitement, new projects, new challenges... and in the meantime we continue enjoying summer; I can not ask for more. This photos are from one of those days so typical in August, which despite the muggy heat, especially at the Islands caused by the tremendous humidity, summer rains threaten to soak up and force you to change your beach or pool day for walks, shopping or trips that always end in heavy meals to finalize the afternoon with a TV movie  or a nap on the couch. What to say about the look? I am a head accessories addict, and this time was the turn of turban.  I have no idea where this desire to adorn my head comes from. My mother always says that we have Arabic roots, an "assumption" of hers because she is tremendously tan... Who knows?! ;)

Puro Beach

Y vuelta a empezar una nueva semana. Qué locura. ¿Cómo pueden pasar tan rápido los días? No nos daremos ni cuenta y el verano ya se habrá terminado... Así qué vamos a exprimirlo al máximo y a disfrutar, hasta cansarnos, del calor, de los largos días estivales, de las terracitas con ambiente en las que te pasarías horas y horas, de los días de playa y piscina en buena compañía, de los helados a media tarde, de las espectaculares puestas de sol, etc...Porque el verano tiene el don de hacer que la vida se vea de otro color. Feliz semana a todos.

And here we are, starting a new week. How crazy. How come summer seems to go by so fast? We will not even notice and the summer will be already over... So lets make the most of every minute. Lets enjoy as much as we can the nice weather, the long summer days, the buzzy terraces, and pool and beach days in good company... Because summer has the gift of making life to seem easier.
